KATHMANDU, May 22: Police have started recording the statement of seven employees of Everest Bank on the charge of defrauding the amount deposited in the bank by depositors.

A media report on Friday said that the grieving families of the Nepal plane crash could lose out on millions in compensation as the Nepal government has not sanctioned the crucial air carriers' liability and insurance draft bill.

The air carriers liability and insurance draft bill has proposed a five-fold increase in compensation in case of death or injury in case of a flight crash in Nepal.

As per the proposed law, domestic airlines must pay a minimum of $100,000 for injury or death of a passenger.

On January 15, a Yeti Airlines aircraft crashed into a gorge near the newly-built airport in Pokhara, killing all the 72 passengers on board, including five Indians, in the country's worst air disaster in 30 years.
