Astronomers detected a radio signal from deeper in space than ever before, using a cosmic trick first predicted by Einstein.

A team of astronomers detected special radio signals, known as the 21-centimeter line, from a galaxy located roughly 9 billion light-years away that could help scientists learn more about how early galaxies form.

Astronomers have detected a radio wave from the most distant galaxy yet that may point to a way to investigate the birth of early stars.

Hydrogen is a key building block of the cosmos.

The signal is more than eight billion years old, having travelled across the universe to reach Earth.

Researchers have captured a radio signal from the most distant galaxy so far, allowing a peek into the secrets of the early universe.

Astronomers from McGill University in Canada and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have used data from the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT), in Pune, to detect a radio signal originating from atomic hydrogen in an extremely distant galaxy.  The IISc said on Monday that the astronomical distance over which the signal has been picked up is “the largest so far by a
