Westbound & Down Brewing is the latest hot Colorado beer maker to sign on with Two Six Craft Distributors, a wholesaler that s an offshoot of Station 26 Brewing. Last month, Two Six signed up Call to Arms Brewing, adding that brewery s beers to its existing brands: New Image Brewing, Wiley Roots Brewing and Station 26. They re a perfect fit for what we are creating at Two Six, which is an extremely focused and specialized portfolio of Colorado s finest breweries, says Todd Luther, general manager and co-founder of Two Six Craft. As we seek to strategically limit the brands, we have to increase focus and attention given to both our brands and retail partners, and we knew Westbound was a must-have.
After a year of pandemic-induced closure, the Stranded Pilgrim craft-beer bar inside Frank Bonanno s Denver Milk Market, at 1800 Wazee Street, has finally reopened for business Fridays through Sundays.
The bar, with twenty taps, typically has had a well-thought-out selection of local brews, from light lagers to hazy IPAs, from saisons to stouts.
Beers on tap the first week included WeldWorks Juicy Bits, New Image Passionfruit Dyad, Hogshead Chin Wag ESB, Tivoli Bo Girl Pilsner and Odell Peach Stand Rambler. But you will also be able to find beers now or in the near future from Epic Brewing, Great Divide, 4 Noses, Wibby, Cerveceria Colorado, Outer Range, Barquentine, Denver Beer Co., Ratio and many more.
Festivals and events of all kinds are returning this spring and summer as organizers tentatively schedule dates with the hope that they won t have to cancel them again. This includes the beer world, where festivals involve close encounters with other humans, sometimes indoors, and require mask removal for drinking.
One of the first to set a date, this one all the way out into the fall, is Greeley s WeldWerks Brewing, which announced Monday that it plans to bring back its signature WeldWerks Invitational on Saturday, October 30; ticket information and other details will be available in the coming months.
“Given what we know today with the current pace of vaccinations, tentative timelines from the state on eased restrictions and the steady decline in cases here in Weld County and Colorado, we’re very optimistic that we can safely move forward,” says Neil Fisher, WeldWerks co-owner and head brewer, adding that it s impossible to be certain about the state of things come Octo
Los Dos Potrillos, a longstanding, local string of Mexican restaurants, has hired award-winning brewer Chris Gilmore to take over the beer-making operation at its location in Parker, which includes a brewhouse.
Gilmore started his career as a packaging manager at Dry Dock Brewing before moving to Lone Tree Brewing in 2017, where he eventually became a lead brewer, helping to make beers like Lone Tree Mexican Lager and Hop Zombie Imperial Red IPA both of which were very well received. Chris without a doubt knows his way around beer and we are excited to welcome him in, a spokesperson for Los Dos Potrillos says. We can’t wait to grow our beer to new levels and we are thrilled Chris will be heading it.
