Representatives of the TPC Group appeared in Federal Court Tuesday afternoon to plead guilty to a Clean Air Act violation.

NTPC Group, a state-owned power giant, has surpassed the milestone of 76 GW in installed power generation capacity. This achievement follows the commissioning of a 57 MW solar power energy capacity in Rajasthan. The first part of the Anta Solar PV Project, totaling 57 MW out of 90 MW, has been declared commercially operational as of April 26, 2024.

The company to be set up under the joint venture will develop GW-scale renewable energy parks and undertake projects of this scale in a phased manner. The agreement aligns with the green energy objectives of NTPC and is another step in the Government of Indias efforts towards energy transition, said the statement.

At 1:40 p.m., the company said power to the plant had been fully restored and equipment was being restarted to prevent any further flaring.

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited Dayapar Wind: With this, the total installed capacity of NTPC Group has become 73,874 MW and the total RE operational capacity of NTPC Group now stands at 3,364 MW.

NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), another wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has commissioned a renewable energy capacity of 2,711 MW and is setting up two solar projects -- a 40 MW solar project at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and a hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Andhra Pradesh.

In addition to solar and wind capacity, NTPC REL is investing in green hydrogen technologies. Based on green hydrogen storage and microgrid principle, it is setting up a large capacity in Ladakh. NGEL, another wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has commissioned RE capacity of 2,711 MW and is setting up two solar projects, including 40 MW Solar at Ayodhya, UP, and a hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh.

During the quarter, the company recorded gross power generation of 90.302 billion units (BU), 5.63 percent higher than 85.487 BUs in the same period a year ago
