The Carson City community held its third annual Holiday Crawl Benefit 2017 on Saturday to raise money for the Holiday with a Hero campaign that gives local homeless children a chance to shop for themselves and family for Christmas. The downtown Carson City event was attended by more than 400 people, up about 100 from last year, organizers say.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for assistance in locating a runaway juvenile. On July 10th, 2020, Anthony Arroyo was reported as a runaway. Anthony left for work on 07/08/10 and did not return home. He has ties to Carson City and Lyon County. Family believes he may be staying with friends.

The number of homeless adults and children continues to rise in Carson City, Nev. From those with mental illness, drug addiction, those that choose they dont want public assistance and remain in the camps, rising costs and shortage of rentals; too the large group that wants the help to get off the streets.

On Sept. 1 the Carson City fitness mainstay Body by Pilates studio will be changing hands as Master trainer and founder Jan Shaw will be handing over the reins to Carson resident and certified Pilates instructor Angela Kennedy.
