Offset Printers Association News Today

Organised by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), the Print Olympiad West Zone finale was held at PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, with the support of Maharashtra Institute of Printing Technology. Apeksha Deshmukh from PVG’s COET & GKWIM was awarded the title: Top Print Student West Zone, and is eligible to participate in the national finale to be held in September 2024.

At the executive meeting of the Offset Printers Association (OPA), held on 26 January 2024 at Ludhiana, the house unanimously presented the Print Shree Award for 2024 to the print veterans Sandip Kumar Sanyal and A Karmeham.

The 6th edition of Print Olympiad - 2023-24 is underway. The students of printing who are currently studying for a print diploma, B Voc, D Voc. or B.Tech./B. E. in printing/packaging are eligible to participate. The idea is to pick the best print student among all the four zones (East, West, North and South) and thereafter during a national finals to select the best from these four zones.

OPA members condemn frequent paper price hike

The Offset Printers Association (OPA) has condemned the sharp rise in the prices of raw material, especially paper, plates and chemicals. According to the organisation, the unprecedented escalation of price of paper by the paper mills has proven to be a major hurdle, while consumables industries are not willing to pass on the cost, making the printing business unviable.
