Oleh Timchenko, an officer from the Office of the Aides to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pleads not guilty to the murder of his colleague Hennadii Chastiakov, and a polygraph examination confirmed that the suspect had no malicious intent.

Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is still investigating the death of Hennadii Chastiakov, former commander-in-chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi's aide, in a grenade explosion in November 2023: about 20 witnesses have been interviewed, three investigative analyses have been conducted, and several examinations are underway.

The State Bureau of Investigation has conducted interviews with around 20 witnesses and staged three crime reenactments as part of its ongoing investigation into the death of Hennadiy Chastiakov, an aide to Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, who was killed in a grenade explosion in November 2023.

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has not chosen a pre-trial restraint measure for Oleh Timchenko, senior aide of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ukraine's Armed Forces, who gave grenades to Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyi's aide Hennadii Chastiakov.

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office will appeal the court decision about choosing the measure of restraint for Oleh Timchenko, an officer from the apparatus of Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who gifted grenades to Hennadii Chastiakov, an aide of Zaluzhnyi.
