Two years since its launch, ONDC is struggling to achieve scale. At a time when its venture capital-backed e-commerce rivals are reducing cash burn, the platforms strategy is raising a few important concerns.

Open Network for Digital Commerce or ONDC is all set to change this by cutting down the middleman between the business and the consumer.

On ONDC, merchants will have the freedom to negotiate better prices with logistics providers while on the e-commerce platforms, they have little control over the service-level agreements.
