Official records seen by CBS reveal that Mayor Brandon Johnsons administration has spent more money on migrants than the budgeted amount for the Chicago Public Library in 2024.

The cost of the Chicago migrant crisis is more than a third of a projected $538 million deficit in the 2024 budget, the Johnson administration said.
