As building companies such as Oracle continue to collapse, some people losing their dream of a new home are blaming over-committed builders chasing government stimulus money.
Queensland father-of-three Dale Liston returned from hospital to find piles of rubbish left by deserting contractors in the wake of the collapse of the Oracle Building Corporation this week.
Queensland man Dale Liston only found out that Oracle Homes, who were building his house, had collapsed while browsing Facebook. Mr Liston said the builder had told him everything was fine .
New Australian Bureau of Statistics data released on Thursday showed 50,000 construction companies were set up between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2022. But there are fears of more collapses.
