Last week, the Nelson Airport was a hive of activity as the cadets from 561 Nelson Osprey Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets had their 70th Annual Ceremonial Review. The Reviewing Officer was Major Marv Macauley from 15 Wing Moosejaw, who ravelled to Nelson in a RCAF CT-156 Harvard II. On Saturday, the cadets from 561 Nelson Osprey Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets will be having their 70th Annual Ceremonial Review. The review will be held at the Nelson Airport on June 3rd 2023 starting at 10:30 a.m. This marks the end of the formal training year for 561. Recently, the cadets from 561 Nelson Osprey Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets travelled to Trail for a day of flying. The cadets flew in a Schweizer SGS 2-33 glider or the Cessna 182 which tows the glider to altitude. The flights lasted about 15 minutes and the cadets had the chance to learn hands-on about what it takes to be a pilot and to be part of the team that safely
