Outer Atmosphere News Today

The Webb Space Telescope has revealed a world quite alien compared to our own: WASP-107b, a Neptune-like gas giant that orbits a star some 211 light-years from Earth. Webb has now detected water vapor and sulfur dioxide in the planet’s atmosphere, as well as sand-like silicate clouds.

Magnetic snake-like energy patterns could bring scientists a step closer to solving a lingering solar mystery: how the outer atmosphere of the sun can be tremendously hotter than its lower layers.

Space Perspective, which describes itself as "Earth's leading luxury spaceflight experience company", has recently unveiled its Spaceship Neptune - a futuristic space balloon which will take guests on a six-hour journey to the edge of the atmosphere.
