Amtrak service resumes July 19 with dollar fares

RUTLAND/BELLOWS FALLS — Vermont Amtrak trains the
Vermonter and the
Ethan Allen Express plan to return July 19, with commemorative festivities at all of the state’s eleven stations.
To celebrate the return, $1 train fares are available for Vermont travel during the day. As of Friday, about three-quarters of tickets for the day were sold.

Customers who head to their Jericho store or Palmer's Sugarhouse can enjoy maple and vanilla creemees, as well as a chocolate mint flavor to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The Sugarhouse will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Village Scoop in Colchester is set to open for the season on March 27. They serve hard ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes and other treats alongside creemees.
Vermont Cookie Love in Ferrisburgh opens their ice cream window in April, although no official start date has been announced. In the meantime, you can think about how you want to customize your creemee by turning it into a ice cream sandwich.
