The Michigan Department of Natural Resources said it has reached a funding goal to purchase track chairs for more state parks and trails, which help people with disabilities explore the parks.

The Michigan DNR has raised more than $440,000 over the last several years to purchase more track chairs for state parks.

Some 15 state parks already offer track chairs for those who use a wheelchair to explore beaches, trails, and even rivers. Thanks to the DNR hitting its fundraising goal, that number is expected to grow.
