Another Acadiana school district is making the move back to face-to-face instruction. Vermilion Parish middle and high school students will be returning to school full-time from hybrid learning in February.
Vermilion Parish Superintendent Tommy Byler says elementary school students will remain in a hybrid learning schedule that was put in place in fall 2020.
The transition will begin on Monday, February 1 with a hybrid schedule that adds more students each day. All middle and high school students will report for in-person learning by Friday, February 5.
Byler said the decision was based on data collected from the CDC and the state health department. He says that most COVID-19 infections have taken place outside of schools.
