Colliers hires two investment brokers

Reply Jeff Morris (Colliers International ) Colliers has hired two veteran investment brokers bringing their years-long relationships with institutional investors and capital providers to Colliers, where they will facilitate industrial and office investment sale and capital transactions. Jeff Morris joins as Executive Managing Director of Capital Markets, and Bret Felberg joins as Managing Director of Capital Markets. In their new roles, Morris and Felberg will focus on Colliers Capital Markets practice in the Southeast related to sales, as well as debt and equity placement for existing properties and new construction. The team will be working in conjunction with Colliers industrial platform consisting of over 90 leasing and investment professionals and over 300 million square feet of managed properties.

Longtime Mississippi business leader Leland Speed dies January 28, 2021 GMT JACKSON, Miss. (AP) Leland R. Speed, a prominent Mississippi businessman who twice served as the state’s economic development director, died Wednesday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Speed died of complications from Lou Gehrig’s disease, his son Warren Speed told WLBT-TV. Speed was in his late 80s. Speed was founder and chairman of Parkway Properties Inc. and EastGroup Properties Inc. Both companies manage real estate holdings in several states. In 2004, Republican Gov. Haley Barbour chose Speed as executive director of the Mississippi Development Authority. Speed served through the end of 2016, taking a state salary of $1 a year. At the end of Barbour’s second term, he brought Speed back as MDA director from March 2011 to January 2012.
