Officials with Fort Jackson are providing additional detail about the death of a chaplain student who died on Monday.

A 38-year-old second lieutenant at Fort Jackson, S.C., was participating in a group run Monday as part of the chaplain officer basic training course when he collapsed and later died at a local hospital, the Army said.

The U.S. Army Institute for Religious Leadership says, Chaplain Candidate (2Lt.) Pascal Buma, 38, died at the Institute for Religious Leadership at Fort Jackson on February 26.

We now know the identity of the Chaplain candidate who died during a morning run at Fort Jackson on Monday.
