Six people were killed after a fire broke out in a hotel in Bihar's capital Patna today. Thirty others suffered burns in the fire at the hotel near the crowded Patna railway station, officials said.

​​According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajeev Mishra, more than 20 people have been rescued from the building, situated in a crowded locality, by fire-fighters.

The fire, which broke out at around 10.45 pm at the four-storey Pal Hotel near Patna railway station, is believed to have originated from an LPG cylinder in the kitchen before spreading quickly through the building.

On Wednesday morning, panic gripped Visvesvaraya Bhavan in Patna after a fire broke out on the third floor of the building. No casualties have been reported so far.

After a massive fire at the Visvesvaraya Bhavan in Patna destroyed several documents, the opposition party RJD cried foul play and demanded a proper investigation into the matter.
