Officials for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency continue to assess the damage done to the environment after nearly 8,000 gallons of gasoline on Wednesday leaked from the Shell gas station at the intersection of routes 64 and 47 in Lily Lake.

Fatal crashes in Illinois spiked to 1,237 in 2021 compared with 938 in 2019, a 32% increase. And thats occuring despite less traffic.

The shortage of new vehicles and car parts isnt just making things tough for commuters who need a new ride. Police departments in the suburbs and across the country say theyve faced monthslong delays on the delivery of new patrol vehicles.
