The top two horses in North American harness racing were in action during the rich Sun Stakes Saturday card at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on Saturday, Aug. 19. 

Ken Hanover has done just about everything asked of him, racing competitively against the tops of his division and banking nearly $250,000 in the process. Yet he still lacks that signature win that would propel him to stardom among sophomore male pacers.

The Captaintreacherous colt Ken Hanover, away from the races since rocketing home in :25 to be second to Christchurch in a Meadowlands Pace prep, showed no ill effects from the time away, setting a soft pace then turning up the speed to win in 1:51.3 in the $17,000 featured pace at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon (July 15).

Favourites won all four divisions of the $155,948 second preliminary round of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes (PASS) for three-year-old pacing males at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania Sunday night, with Hall Of Fame trainer Linda Toscano sending out two of the PASS winners.

The Pennsylvania-sired “glamour division”, the three-year-old pacing males, were featured in their first of two consecutive Sunday stops at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania on May 14, contesting three $30,000 divisions of their Pennsylvania All-Stars event.

The sophomore Muscle Hill colt Dyladmar was the most impressive winner in the four $13,500 featured races held at Harrah’s Philadelphia Thursday (April 27) afternoon, winning the section for trotters in 1:53, just four-fifths of a second off the divisional track record held by Googoo Gaagaa.
