Jennifer McCormick, former Indiana state superintendent of public instruction and Democratic candidate for the governor of Indiana, is upset.

This week the investigation into what caused a house explosion in Twelve Mile is set to begin. Almost two months ago the Ulerick home exploded, neighbors could feel the blast from miles away.

The nephew of the late Paul Ulerick is remebering his uncle. Ulerick was severely burned when his house exploded early last month. He died earlier this week from multi-system organ failure.

The Allen County Coroners office has confirmed that the lone burn victim in last months Cass County house explosion has died.

Paul Ulerick, the sole victim of a house explosion earlier this month, remains in critical condition at the Fort Wayne Burn Center. Ulerick was 73 percent covered in burns after the explosion. His nephew, Mark Babb, says he has had three spray-on skin grafting procedures thus far.

According to the Cass County Sheriff, officers responded to a report of an explosion in the area of County Road 600 East and County Road 800 North.

A 63-year-old man was critically injured Friday morning after his house exploded.

Police said the explosion happened in the town of Twelve Mile Friday morning.
