a.m. A resident on West Perry Street reported that a male wearing all
black was sitting on their neighbor’s car and appeared to be under the
influence of something. The caller did not recognize this person and
have not seen them at the neighbor’s residence prior. An officer arrived
at the house on West Perry Street and questioned the person outside.
They claimed they were waiting on their girlfriend to arrive home and
was noticably under the influence of something. The officer advised the
person to go home and come back later when their girlfriend was home.

PAULDING Earlier this week, troopers from the Van Wert Ohio State Highway Patrol Post arrested and charged a 48-year-old Indiana man with operating a vehicle under the influence, making it his 24th OVI arrest and sixth felony OVI charge in his lifetime.

The driver, Tony Martin Hanson, was pulled over on Monday afternoon after motorists called 9-1-1 to report his unsafe driving. Hanson was later observed by the Paulding police chief as the Indiana man entered that community, where his vehicle struck a curb while pulling into the Dairy Queen parking lot.

Indiana man arrested for 24th drunk driving charge
PAULDING An Indiana man was arrested in Paulding County on Monday after he was observed driving recklessly. It was the 24th time Tony Martin Hanson, 48, has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and his sixth felony OVI charge.
After being alerted when motorists called 911, troopers from the Van Wert post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to assist the Paulding Police Department in initiating a traffic stop on Hanson. During the incident, officers and troopers determined Hanson was highly intoxicated.
Due to the level of intoxication, Hanson could not safely perform field sobriety tests. Hanson was found to have a breath alcohol content nearly four times the .08% legal limit.
