The owner of an Abington paving firm will spend one year in prison and pay nearly $785,000 in restitution after being sentenced on federal tax evasion charges.

The owner of a paving company in Abington has pleaded guilty to tax evasion after underreporting his income on tax returns for the past seven years.

Robert Brainard, 52, of Weymouth, has agreed to plead guilty to one count of tax evasion, according to the U.S. attorneys office.
