It’s no secret that Mayor Yemi Mobolade is a former pastor who wears his faith publicly.

Seven months ago, a tragedy struck. But instead of going into hiding, its Pride has gotten bigger, louder, and more loving.

Over the weekend, the LGBTQ+ community and allies came together to celebrate pride in downtown Colorado Springs. It was also an opportunity to honor the victims and survivors of the Club Q shooting.

“The experience- it’s one we will never forget,” a volunteer with Pikes Peak Pride, Maddy Roberts, said.

These billboards are used to honor the five lives lost in the tragedy at Club Q last November. These signs can find them on Wahsatch, Tejon, Hancock and Nevada. There will be a commemoration outside of the Pioneers Museum, tomorrow at 11:00am.

The Pikes Peak Pride Festival is happening this weekend in Colorado Springs. Heres what to know about the event.

Colorado Springs Police tell 11 News there are no known threats for Pikes Peak Pride. CSPD says they have enough officers for traffic control and any public safety concerns.

The local veteran who helped take down the suspected mass shooter at Club Q will be leading the Pikes Peak Pride Parade in Colorado Springs happening on Sunday.
