The May Performance Season, a stage play festival showcasing over 30 theater performances, is scheduled to launch in Beijing on May 8.

Robots, autonomous vehicles, microchips… these high-tech inventions are not something people usually associate with cultural productions. Yet, they will be front and center in the upcoming Chinese musical Yimeng Yizhen, or A Dream is True, set to debut at Beijings Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Thursday night.

A new musical inspired by the fast development of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area was announced on Monday. The upcoming Dream and Reality, to be staged by the Beijing Performance & Arts Group, is set to make its debut at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on October 15.

Gui Street, a stage drama inspired by the same-named street in Beijing known for its various restaurants debuted at the National Performing Centre for Local Operas on Saturday and Sunday.

Call 4921, a new acrobatic show by produced by the Beijing Performance & Arts Group and the China National Acrobatic Troupe, is set to be staged at Beijings Poly Theatre on January 10, Chinas second State Policemens Day.
