“The work on Eighth Avenue is just spot repairs, they’re not as large as a repaving project so the interruption on Highway 5 will be minimized,” Berguist said, adding that the specific rerouting hasn’t been planned at this time. “It may be the same type of detour, but it may not be as long.” In addition to the work on Highway 5, Berguist said workers plan to pave 16th Street at the same time, which is currently receiving water main replacement.
