Washington DC (UPI) May 3, 2024 - New research from the University of Guelph said on Friday that temperatures are becoming too hot for bumblebees, threatening their role as plant pollinators and the food supply for humans and other animals.

More frequent heatwaves mean bees are unable to thermoregulate their hives – further endangering a species already in decline

A study found that bumblebee nests may be getting too hot, and the species are struggling to thermoregulate these temperatures.

Climate change could be fueling bumblebee population loss by making hives too hot to handle

There's a newly-determined "major factor" in declining bumblebee populations – and it's attacking their nests.

Scientists say rising heat as a potential culprit for the decline in bee populations worldwide.
