After a candidate withdrew, the Phoenix ethics commission is in limbo again. The City Council has discussed creating a commission for seven years.

BOSTON -- Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley ordained five men from four different countries to the archdiocesan priesthood in a Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on May 20.

BRIGHTON -- When most people think of a Catholic seminary, they might imagine something like a monastery, where men follow a strict life of prayer and study as they discern their vocations. They might not imagine playing sports, although such activities can help seminarians develop fraternity, discipline, and other areas of growth.

(This is the first in a series of articles profiling the seven men who will be ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Boston at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on May 20.)

BOSTON -- On June 4, five men marked one of the most important steps in their journey to the priesthood as Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley ordained them transitional deacons at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.

STILL RIVER -- An exhibition basketball game between seminarians and other young men provided an opportunity to encourage vocations -- by showing that prospective priests are regular guys.
