The district says the bus had just finished its route for Horizon Elementary School and was on its way to Penn High School when the crash happened at the intersection of Buckeye Road and Douglas Road.

Bowers is busy at Penn High School. He coaches girls and boys tennis, serves as the social studies academic coach, leads the Muslim student association, and teaches multiple AP History classes.

According to school officials, there were some Penn High School students on board the bus at the time of the crash. However, no injuries were reported among those students, nor the bus driver.
