Napa Valley Unified School District announced today that it has been awarded a K-12 Strong Workforce Program grant to help fund its new Agricultural Science Innovation Center, which will replace and expand upon its prior Vintage Farm site. The district plans to break ground on the project in the new year.

A study three years ago recommended exploring formation of a Napa County-wide water entity. On Monday, civic leaders again discussed the idea.

Among other items, the contents included a document from the now-defunct Traffic Advisory Committee:“Top Ten Reasons Why the Traffic Advisory Committee Will Not Be Needed in the Year 2020."

The Napa City Council voted Tuesday to restrict the trucking of water out of the city and limit most outdoor irrigation to two days each week. Through the council action, the city is hoping to cut community water use by 20% this year when compared to 2020. The city’s goal is to preserve water stored in Lake Hennessey, Napa’s primary local source of water, in the midst of California’s 2021 drought.
