“It's going to put us on a level with other cities our size that have a really nice skate park," said Phil Burcher, president of the Lincoln Skatepark Association.

"Getting the youth's feedback and adult's feedback, it should become an amazing park that will stand the test of time."

The Lincoln Skatepark Association is hosting a planning session for a new South Haymarket skatepark on Sunday afternoon at The Bay.

LSA President Phil Burcher says today's meeting was the first step to informing Lincoln residents on the need for more designated areas for roller athletes.

Fall is officially just one week away, and there are plenty of events for the whole family to celebrate, including Applejack and Oktoberfest.

The Lincoln Skatepark Association says the city needs more skateparks, and it invites residents to learn why at an open house on Sunday.
