Sea bass fishing is lights out, bluefish blast topwaters in the bays and rivers and the surf is fishing well for stripers as more bunker arrive each day.

Forty pound stripers follow bunker schools out front, fluke fishing continues to improve in the bays and rivers, and sea bass fishing has been fantastic.

Sea bass season starts off hot, bluefish are everywhere, and large stripers hit eels, bunker, swimming plugs, clams and more off the beaches.

Bluefish make a strong showing in the bays while stripers eat clams and plugs in the surf, and good fluke fishing continues while blowfish catches increase.

One fish, two fish, weakfish, bluefish. Stripers are active in the bays, rivers and surf while fluke season opened with a bang.

Weakfish show up in the rivers while bluefish arrive in the surf, meanwhile, striped bass fishing stays strong and shops prepare for fluke season on Tuesday.

Stripers are biting clams and worms in the surf this week while tautog fishermen find the most success in 30-foot depths.

Striper fishing is still hot around the Raritan, trout season opened this week, and blackfish are biting well around Point Pleasant Canal and the ocean inlets.

The striper bite in Raritan Bay is red hot and the action is improving by the day in Barnegat Bay. Meanwhile, blackfishing has been surprisingly good offshore.

Heavy wind and weather made for some challenging striped bass fishing this week, and only a handful of winter flounder catches have been reported so far.
