The announcement was made on Wednesday, January 20, by TinCan Films, the film production company Toni co-founded. The announcement coincided with the
Pinoy Big Brother host's 37th birthday.
"In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, this year we will relive the classic Korean RomCom with its Philippine adaptation. On her birthday, we are proud to announce Toni Gonzaga is Philippines’
My Sassy Girl," the company announced on its social media accounts.

The Philippines is going to have an adaptation of the hit South Korean movie “My Sassy Girl” where Filipino actress Toni Gonzaga will star.
The actress’s film company, TinCan Films, announced this on its social media accounts, revealing some photos of Toni’s scenes in the remake of the movie.
“In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, this year we will relive the classic Korean RomCom with its Philippine adaptation,” TinCan said.
“On her birthday, we are proud to announce Toni Gonzaga is Philippines’ My Sassy Girl,” it added.
