Condemning the unwarranted and undemocratic suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs, floor leaders of Opposition parties of the Upper House said they will meet on Tuesday to deliberate on the future course of action to resist the government s authoritarian decision.
Following their suspension from Rajya Sabha for the remaining part of the winter session, Trinamool Congress MPs Dola Sen and Shanta Chhetri said they are proud that they raised their voices in support of the farmers
The Rajya Sabha on Monday suspended 12 MPs for the entire Winter Session of Parliament for creating ruckus in the house during Monsoon Session of the Parliament on August 11. The suspended MPs are from Congress, Trinamool Congress, CPI, CPI-M and Shiv Sena. The members are Syed Naseer Hussain, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Phulo Devi Netam, Chhaya Verma, Ripun Bora and Rajmani
The MPs have been suspended from the service of Rajya Sabha for the remainder of the 255th Session (Winter Session) under rule 256 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Rajya Sabha.
