Fran Brock remembers the mold. The county coordinator for the Oktibbeha County Extension Service spent eight years working in the 73-year-old former Felix Long Memorial Hospital building downtown before county leaders moved her office last May, along with Human Services and several others, to a more adequate home on Lynn Lane — one that thankfully has heating and air conditioning.

Private First Class Robert Alexander grew up in Tolley, North Dakota, a small town near Minot. He died in the south Pacific in 1944, and recently had his remains identified. Now, he has finally returned to the United States, to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

Oktibbeha County supervisors on Monday left plans for tearing down the old Felix Long Memorial Hospital building in limbo and sent an architecture firm hoping to design the work back to square one.
