The Quebec Transport Department (MTQ) and the City of Montreal gave an update on the roadwork to be expected in the fall. There will be 51 minor and major closures due to construction projects.

Drivers are advised to avoid the Honore-Mercier Bridge and Saint-Pierre interchange if possible over the weekend as construction projects will result in closures.

Road users in and around Montreal are advised to avoid the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, Crémazie Boulevard, the Saint-Pierre interchange, Highway 13 northbound in Laval and Highway 15 southbound in La Prairie due to construction.

The annual Tour de lÎle de Montréal and Tour la Nuit cycling events are taking place on Friday and Sunday in northeast boroughs.

There will be more than one road closure over the weekend due to construction projects in and around Montreal. Restrictions will be in place in the Saint-Pierre Interchange, on the Pie-IX bridge and the Nuns Island section of Highway 15, among others.

Several routes will be closed through Easter weekend due to ice storm clean up and construction projects in and around Montreal.

Transport Quebec is reminding drivers that three of the six lanes in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel will remain closed until 2025.

Those driving in and around Montreal on Thanksgiving weekend should be advised that major obstructions will be present on several roads, including Route 136, in the Turcot Interchange, the Viger Tunnel on the Honore-Mercier Bridge and on Highway 15 in La Prairie.

Motorists travelling in and around the Island of Montreal should note that there will be multiple route closures for construction, including on Highway 25 in the La Fontaine tunnel, the Saint-Pierre Interchange, the Mercier Bridge, and elsewhere.
