A High Court case taken the operator of a farm in Killnick, which was convicted under the Air Pollution Act last year, has been adjourned until February of next year.

The owners of a pig farm in Co Wexford have taken judicial review proceedings in the High Court after An Bord Pleanála deemed it in breach of planning regulations in April of this year. Operated by Premier Pigs Ltd, the farm, which is situated in Killuger, Killinick, has been the subject of a number of complaints from residents and, in September of last year, Wexford County Council (WCC) won a court case against the farm under the Air Pollution Act.

Wexford County Council (WCC) is to issue legal proceedings against the owner of Premier Pigs Ltd due to a breach of planning regulations on its farm in Killinick. Last month, following an investigation of the farm, An Bord Pleanala (ABP) concluded that the owner of the farm was guilty of “an intensification of use” and that recent upgrades to the farm were not permitted.
