Based on the medieval crime series by bestselling Estonian author Indrek Hargla, the three feature films of the "Melchior the Apothecary" trilogy will be released abroad as a six-part miniseries, "Melchior" screenwriter Olle Mirme told Vikerraadio.

Last week's Birgitta Festival, back on the calendar after a two-year absence, attracted a total of 4,244 music lovers to the ruins of the Pirita Convent in Tallinn.

Monday marked the gala premiere of "Melchior the Apothecary: The Ghost," the second movie in a trilogy based on the medieval crime bestsellers by bestselling Estonian author Indrek Hargla. "The Ghost" will hit theaters nationwide by Friday.

American nu metal band Slipknot performed their first ever concert in Estonia on Thursday night at Tallinn's Saku Suurhall. The show was the latest installment of the band's "We Are Not Your Kind" tour.

While Tallinn Philharmonic Society artistic director Tõnu Kaljuste does not consider it reasonable to spend hundreds of thousands on setting up a temporary roof on the Pirita Convent each year, Tallinn heritage protection board director Boris Dubovik does not understand how anyone can think of rebuild medieval ruins for commercial reasons.

With the easing of coronavirus restrictions through May and June, Tallinn will be the scene of several major summer festivals, including July's 'Medieval days' and the annual Birgitta music festival in August, the city government says.
