A tick under 10 million people visited Utah’s 46 state parks last year, according to a KSL.com analysis of monthly data released by the Utah Division of State Parks. It’s a 14% decrease from the record-setting 11.6 million visitors in 2021.

Visitation to Utahs state parks dropped a little in 2022 but that doesnt mean the parks werent busy.

One Utah reservoir has reached 0% capacity, while two others are above 100%. Some of it has to do with spring weather and reservoir size.

Utah’s reservoir system is collectively at 57% of its capacity, but why is it that some of Utah’s reservoirs are bordering on empty while others are flourishing? It all depends on snowpack, the reservoir’s size and consumption.
