WORKERS have voted overwhelmingly for a shorter working week in a bid to save jobs at the Airbus plant in Broughton. Last month, Unite asked members of the union employed at the Airbus plant in Broughton to vote the plan to move to a shorter working week. The plan, which has been negotiated between Unite and Airbus, will see a reduction in the working week of between five and ten per cent for a short period of time to remove the possibility of compulsory redundancies. It also provides a roadmap to a resumption of full-time working once the coronavirus crisis, which has hit the aviation industry hard, begins to ease.
