The Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Class of 2024 will be honored during outdoor graduation ceremonies set for May 28-31 at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf.   The Class of 2024 includes 2,102 graduates who earned a collective number of scholarships totaling almost $184 million. The total is likely to increase as graduates report scholarship offers to their respective high schools.   First in the CCPS high school graduation schedule is St. Charles High School at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28. The graduation schedule is as follows. All graduations will stream live at www.ccboe.com.   · Tuesday, May 28: St. Charles High School, 9 a.m. · Tuesday, May 28: Thomas Stone High School, 1 p.m. · Wednesday, May 29: La Plata High School, 9 a.m. · Wednesday, May 29: Westlake High School, 1 p.m. · Thursday, May 30: Henry E. Lackey High School, 9 a.m. · Thursday, May 30: Maurice J. McDonough High School, 1 p.m. · Friday, May 31: North Point High School, 9 a.m. Valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2024 were announced this week and represent the top academic achievers among graduates at each school. These positions are determined by student GPAs.   Leading the Henry E. Lackey High School graduating Class of 2024 is Isabel Raleigh as valedictorian and Anna Martin as salutatorian. Raleigh heads to the University of Miami in the fall and plans to double major in marketing and graphic design. Martin will attend Auburn University and plans to major in psychology.   La Plata High School Class of 2024 leaders include valedictorian William Alcorn and salutatorian Alan Sebastian. Alcorn will attend the University of Alabama in the fall and plans to study accounting. Sebastian heads to the University of St. Thomas and is planning to study to become a Catholic priest.   The Maurice J. McDonough High School Class of 2024 is led by valedictorian Noah Cusack and salutatorian Aiden Gibney. Cusack plans to attend the University of Tennessee in the fall and study nuclear engineering. Gibney will attend the University of Maryland, College Park.   Valedictorian for the Class of 2024 from North Point High School is Samuel Stine and class salutatorian is Shreeya Chada. Stine plans to attend the College of Southern Maryland in the fall and major in engineering. Chada heads to UCLA in the fall and plans to study on a pre-law political science and anthropology track.   St. Charles High School senior Miracle Washington leads the Class of 2024 as valedictorian. Chloe Del Rosario is the class salutatorian. Washington plans to attend the University of Maryland, College Park and will study computer science. Del Rosario will also attend the University of Maryland, College Park and plans to study architecture.   Valedictorian for the Class of 2024 at Thomas Stone High School is Carley “Charlie” Bowie and class salutatorian is Noah Prado. Bowie will attend Boston University in the fall and plans to study political science. Prado plans to study at the College of Southern Maryland.   The graduating class from Westlake is led by valedictorian Margareth Dagamac and salutatorian Mason Wheeler. Dagamac plans to attend Johns Hopkins University and will major in neuroscience and biomedical engineering. Wheeler heads to Marshall University in the fall.   2024 graduation numbers by school (scholarship totals may increase as offers are reported).   Henry E. La Plata High School Senior Earns Perfect Score on ACT

About one-quarter of 1% of students who take the ACT each year earn a perfect score. In 2022 — the last year for which statistics are available — that was 3,376 students out of 1.34 million who earned a composite score of 36.
