Green Building Initiative Announces Election of Dr. Charles Kibert as Chair of the Board of Directors

Dr. Charles Kibert, Professor and Director of the Powell Center for Construction and Environment at the University of Florida, as Chair of its Board of Directors. GBI’s membership also elected three new Directors,
Sara Greenwood, GGP, and Principal of the Greenwood Consulting Group;
Tehmina Husain, GGP, GPCP, and Sr. Sustainability Consultant of Merrick and Company; and
Andrea Rutledge, CAE, and CEO of the Construction Management Assn. of America to the board with terms through December 2023.
Green Building Initiative
The Green Building Initiative (GBI) announced the election of Charles Kibert, professor and director of the Powell Center for Construction and Environment at the University of Florida, as chair of its board of directors.
Kibert s work focuses on mitigating the impacts of and adapting to climate change, the design of storm and flood resilient buildings and high-volume manufacturing of post-disaster housing. He was responsible for the design and construction of Rinker Hall, the first green building of almost 80 high-performance buildings on the University of Florida campus.
GBI’s membership also elected three new directors, Sara Greenwood, GGP, and principal of the Greenwood Consulting Group; Tehmina Husain, GGP, GPCP, and senior sustainability consultant of Merrick and Company and Andrea Rutledge, CAE, and CEO of the Construction Management Association of America to the board with terms through December 2023.

immigrants. they are immigrants. not the children of immigrants. larry: children themselves? immigrants themselves. so it s the melting pot. larry: from where? all over. name a country in the world and there s somebody at ccny and in the powell center from that country. the nature of our society is to bring in immigrants and immigrants who will bring culture. bring in new ideas. keep us fresh and alive. immigrants who will work and keep our working population relatively young compared to europe and asia. i m also involved in other aspects of youth work. i founded america s promise, and alma is the chair of the america s promise alliance and we re continuing to reach out to young people. we have to become a nation of graduates. we have too many kids not finishing high school. the chinese and indians, everybody is investing in education and america has to do a better job. it s not just the schools and teachers that we have to make an investment in, we have to make an investment i
