Gov. Kathy Hochul today urged New Yorkers to prepare for another lake-effect snow event that is forecast to bring 1 to 3 feet of snow to areas in Western and Northern New York, especially near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing through Thursday night.

Kathy Hochul has directed state agencies to begin emergency response preparations as lake-effect snow and strong winds have the potential to create dangerous, blizzard-like conditions off the shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario this weekend. The governor also released a video message to New Yorkers updating them on the latest forecasts and urging caution as the storm moves into New York.
