As part of its pre-monsoon work, the BMC Garden Department has carried out pruning of 22,334 large and potentially hazardous tree branches in the city.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar said, “We have decided to survey roads to proactively repair bad patches before the monsoon.”

The inclusion of a penalty clause of Rs1 lakh for each pothole identified by the TMC in the contract will serve as a strong incentive for contractors to deliver quality work, he said.
