Forsyth County parents are being encouraged to begin registering their eligible children for Pre-K, but options for early education in the area are dwindling. 

To help build the teacher pipeline here in Forsyth County, The Pre-K Priority, a local collaboration of community organizations committed to early childhood education, launched its Be First initiative including online resources, community advertising and social media to encourage individuals to consider careers in early childhood education.  

Advocates of early childhood education say a $3.7 million grant from the Forsyth County commissioners will be a major boost in their efforts to improve the pre-K landscape.

A campaign is underway in Forsyth County to get more four-year-olds enrolled in pre-K programs. It includes a new online resource to help families with the application process.
