Were so happy to announce that San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center has officially been licensed and is ready to receive patients. We want to thank all of the people who worked so hard to make this historic mile stoeb possible. I know our ceo is in the audience and just want to let her know how lucky she is to move into a brand new hospital this weekend and i know she will be working hard along with many. Also, just to let you know, we have have 24 7 it teams ready to support the new hospital. They will be on call for a whole week and then of course they will stand down if things look good in terms of any issues. So i think that is one of the best news. Also mayor lee did announce his department of homelessness

Good to see you and good morning. Timothy, tell us more about i more about i should say about do more 24. Its a oneday online giving day for the residents of the National Capital area. What we do, we try to get the word out the the regional nonprofits to join up. A way to give them increased reach on this particular day and really allow them to show case the work they do in the community. 24 hour marathon of giving . Absolutely. That is important because it builds momentum. It builds excitement and it really helps folks kind of galvanize around giving in a time of year that organizations dont give donations. So were headed into the summer so this is your low season. It is. Almost i wont say all, but most nonprofits have a june 30th budget year. So its going to help this Organization Give an added boost. Cristina martinez grew up in the small central mexican town of capulhuac, where barbacoa is not just a meal, its a way of life. Her mother and father cooked barbacoa for a living. cristina chopping meat and in her town, 99 of the people there cook barbacoa. While cristina carries on the family tradition, she wants a better life for her 3 children in mexico. Cristina, voice cracking w emotion, explaining in spanish how difficult it is shes saying its very difficult. Shes here for the economic stability of the family, and to provide for them. She came to the United States illegally, crossing the border first in 2006 and then again in 2009. The reason she came here was so her daughter would have access to nursing school. And even though were married she has no access to a green card or a visa. Thats because of a Us Immigration law known as the 10 year hard bar. If she wants to get legal not only would she have to go to mexico, shed have to wait a full 10 years outside before she could eve
