Hot Springs Lakeside came into Wildcat Arena and took a pair of 5A South games from El Dorado on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 63-48 in the varsity boys game after the Lady Wildcats fell 64-48.

Going into Friday’s game, El Dorado had dropped six straight conference match-ups, including a one-point loss at Hot Springs Lakeside and a two-point loss to Hot Springs. So the Wildcats’ 67-42 win over Texarkana at Wildcat Arena was a sweet treat on Sweetheart Night.

Basketball fans at Wildcat Arena got a holiday treat on Thursday in the form of a down-to-the-wire thriller. Magnolia survived a last-second 3-point attempt by El Dorado and stayed unbeaten on the season with a 54-53 win in the varsity boys’ matchup. The Lady Panthers won the varsity girls’ game 59-30.

MONTICELLO - El Dorado earned its first victory of the basketball season on Saturday. The Wildcats had to dig out of a hole to do it.

WEST MONROE - El Dorado got off to a slow start and couldn’t catch up Thursday in a 65-51 non-conference loss at West Monroe. The Wildcats fell to 0-3 on the season while the Rebels ran their record to 4-0.

El Dorado beat Jacksonville 46-27 in the regular-season finale Friday night at Memorial Stadium. It was the fourth win in a row for the Wildcats, who improved to 6-4 and will take the No. 6 seed to Pulaski Academy next week in the first round of the 6A State Playoffs.

El Dorado celebrated its Homecoming with a tidy 42-13 victory over Sylvan Hills Friday at Memorial Stadium. The Wildcats led 42-7 at the half and improved to 4-4 overall and 3-4 in 6A East play. The Bears fell to 0-8, 0-6.

Hot Springs went on a 20-2 run in the fourth quarter and beat El Dorado 62-50 Friday night in 5A South action at Wildcat Arena. The Wildcats fell to 2-12 in league play.

Sheridan knocked down 11 3-pointers and El Dorado’s offense continued to sputter on Tuesday in a 69-50 victory for the Yellowjackets at Wildcat Arena. The Wildcats fell to 2-11 in league play while Sheridan improved to 6-5.
