Printmann who bagged the Packaging Company of the Year - Folding Cartons (Boutique) at the PrintWeek Awards 2023, announced the induction of Somerset Indus Capital Partners as a minority investor as well as a subsidiary Pakcellence. The announcement was made in the presence of Printmann’s employees, customers and packaging partners on 13 February. The aim: To be the world’s most preferred packaging partner. Somerset Indus Capital Partners has made an investment in the Printmann Group.

This marks the seventh and final investment of the PE firm’s second investment vehicle that was closed in 2019 with a corpus of $76 million.

In an interesting turn of events, Mumbai-based TCPL Packaging edged out last year’s winner Manipal Technologies to take home the coveted PrintWeek Printing Company of Year Prism at the PrintWeek Awards 2023 gala ceremony held at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake on 30 October.

Headquartered in Mumbai, TCPL Packaging has now ventured into the flexible packaging industry, capable of producing printed cork-tipping paper, laminates, sleeves, and wrap-around labels.

Printmann is a family business expanding beyond its traditional operations and investing in new ventures. The company is exploring the potential of packaging for its four businesses: cartons, labels, leaflets, and foils. The company developed Tugain (an anti-hair fall solution and packaging concept.

Parksons Packaging has won it again. Last year, the company won the Packaging Company of the Year - Folding Cartons (Specialisation), showing it was on a clear growth trajectory, having acquired Manohar Packagings, a specialist producer of packaging for alcoholic beverages with plants in Goa and Rajpura.

Mumbai-headquartered Printmann Group exhibits at CPHI Frankfurt 2023, the biggest international pharma event from 24 to 26 October at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, Spain.
