LONDON -- The European Union signed off Monday on a new agreement over the privacy of peoples personal information that gets pinged across the Atlantic, aiming to ease European concerns about electronic spying by American intelligence agencies.

The Framework replaces the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Shield that was previously invalidated by CJEU in its Schrems II judgment on July 16, 2020. Framework serves as an additional data transfer tool under the EU General Data Protection Regulation GDPR
