Rep. Clarke well, we decided to establish a bipartisan smart cities caucus. Originally, darrell issa was my cochair. Its now a congresswoman from indiana. Peter susan brooks. Rep. Clarke susan brooks, exactly. And we knew that already technology is a major part of our lives. Its a utility that we can use to make sure we are economically feasible going into the future, that we are efficient in our use of energy, and it enables our society, i think, to be far more productive than our 20th century industrial age. So, were looking at the fact that so much of what already exists in society is connected. And what our smart cities caucus does is it looks at four different areas of how were connected. One is connectivity, the other principle being sustainability, the other being mobility, and then the workforce. We have a quorum. Vice president taylor thank you. In the last few weeks, we watched the barbaric murder of george floyd by vile, racist Police Officers. We watched Ahmaud Arbery get gunned down by white spr supremacists. Study after study shows that white people and black people are not only more likely to commit crimes, they think that we feel less pain. We have a less nuanced feeling, and less worthy of protection, so we often have to fend for ourselves. Racism is definitely a police problem, one that is as old as our entire nation, but lets be clear no ones off the hook. Racism is an america problem. Trayvon martin, Ahmaud Arbery were killed by citizens. The overwhelming number of hate crimes are committed by ordinary citizens. Every Single Member of this commission is committed to rooting out bias in this Police Department, and after seeing the murder in minneapolis, after seeing the recent video circulating of what appears to be neck restraints used here in San Francisco in janua

The other thing i wanted to do that before i got too old to remember because looking at this from when it dictated at the Stock Exchange and then going through all the technology was really an Inflection Point in the Financial Service industry and i wanted to tell the story from the inside so people would see the human aspect to it. Host so, the title the harder the work the luckier you get, is that tongueincheek or did you believe that . Guest sam is the one that put the phrase together but then as i was talking to the people at simon schuster, and of course it isnt about time and time again. It sounded like it s
